Farm
Working the land together
The physical foundation of our ecosystem, nurturing both the land and those who tend it.
Elements of this hub
Land & Forest
Indigenous forest, the dam and the streams that run through the property. The wild edge of the farm: walked, watched, fished from, learned from, and left largely to itself.
Grazing & Livestock
Pasture, beef cattle and Jersey cows. Working animals and working land, where children and adults take part in the daily rhythm of moving, feeding and caring for the herd.
Food Forest
A layered planting of fruit and nut trees, shrubs and ground cover that feeds the kitchen and teaches how a productive system can look after itself.
Poultry
Chickens for eggs and for the compost cycle. Small enough for the youngest children to take real responsibility for.
Dairy
Milk from the Jersey cows, processed on the farm and passed into the kitchen for cheese, yoghurt and butter.
Gardens
Landscaping, trees, a nursery and indigenous flora. The place where growing things is practised in the open, from seed trays to established beds.
Homestead Stewardship
Keeping the buildings, water, fences, tools and paths in good order. The unglamorous work that holds everything else together, done together.
Farm Stay & Residencies
Staying on the farm for a night, a week or a season — as a visitor, a resident practitioner or a collaborator embedded in the ecosystem.
